Top Activites for Kids at the Animal Kingdom Lodge

Uzima Springs Pool

When you’re spending some “down time” at your resort – whether it’s a rainy day or just a relaxing afternoon – you want to make sure the kids are having fun (without the aid of the TV or any electronic devices).

You are, after all, on a family vacation and everyone should be having a great time!

The Animal Kingdom Lodge has a number of great activities for the kids from swimming at the pool to crafts to movies under the stars.

It’s always a good time to swim – morning, noon, or night! And you can’t go wrong at the Uzima Springs Pool an 11,000 square foot, zero entry pool that features a 67-foot water slide. There’s also a children’s wading pool nearby. If you’re staying at Kidani Village head over to the Samawati Spring Pool area where you’ll find a zero entry pool featuring a 128-foot water slide.

Both pools also offer hours of recreational games and activities including pool parties, wildlife games, bingo, “name that tune,” and Disney Trivia.

If you’re at the Jambo House, be sure to check out the afternoon craft each day at Simba’s Clubhouse. It is usually scheduled around 2:30 p.m. every day, but check the activity sheet for accurate times.

We all know that sometimes kids just want to play some video games, so the kids can always spend a little bit of time at the arcade. It runs on the Arcade Cards system where you must purchase points to play. Cards can be recharged throughout your stay.

As evening rolls around, it’s always fun to head to the Uzima Overlook at the Jambo House to participate in the night vision animal viewing. Cast members will be on hand with night vision goggles for guests.

And don’t forget about the nightly “movies under the stars” that take place at the Uzima Springs Pool at the Jambo House and at the Samawati Springs Pool at Kidani Village. The monthly movies and showtimes will be listed on the resort’s activity sheet.
