Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge was recently granted official re-accreditation by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
Only zoos and aquariums that meet the highest standards in animal care and management are granted accreditation by the AZA.
The Animal Kingdom Lodge hosted a team from the AZA last year and the team assessed everything from animal enrichment to conservation programs to veterinary services and even merchandise.
The accreditation means the Animal Kingdom Lodge can continue to work toward their goal of conservation of species. Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park also received their accreditation.
The AZA said the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney’s Animal Kingdom “set the gold standard” for for zoos and aquariums.
